Five Years Apart: Help Reunite a Father & Son

THE FEDERAL CASE ENDED. WE STILL DON'T HAVE OUR SON.

For more than five years, our family has lived with the consequences of January 6. My husband, Ben, is a permanently and totally disabled combat veteran, husband, father, and stepfather. We have endured years of court proceedings, financial devastation, serious health struggles, and lost opportunities. But the most painful consequence remains: Ben still has no contact with his son, G.

In May 2021, before Ben had even been federally charged, his January 6 attendance and resulting FBI investigation were used as the basis for an emergency family-court request to suspend his physical visitation with G. The order was entered May 20. The federal criminal complaint was not filed until June 25. Ben was later arrested and initially released under federal pretrial conditions. In May 2024, he was detained and ultimately spent approximately nine months in federal detention. Then, on January 21, 2025, Ben's federal case and the pending charges against him were dismissed with prejudice. Ben was never sentenced. Yet ending the federal case did not restore his relationship with his son. We still have no contact with G.

We are still fighting. We have returned to court seeking relief and are assembling years of original evidence—court filings, federal records, messages, phone records, and an original recorded conversation—to put the complete story before attorneys, journalists, advocates, and others willing to examine it. We have also uncovered unanswered questions concerning FBI contacts and the chronology surrounding the state judge who entered the 2021 order and later became a DOJ Immigration Judge. We aren't asking anyone to blindly believe our conclusions. We are asking for help getting the evidence examined and getting Ben a meaningful opportunity to fight for his relationship with his son.

The federal case and charges were dismissed with prejudice on January 21, 2025.

Ben was never sentenced.

But we still don't have our son.

We cannot recover the years of G's childhood that are already gone.

But we will fight for the years that remain.
