Hello all; We are the IAYSP Thailand youth volunteers! We are a group of 5 21-22 year-old’s that received the opportunity to support community & educational activities here in Thailand, and we’re inheriting a lot from its respectful and familial culture.

We are creating this fundraiser because we know that as Americans, we have a lot to offer to the world. In Thailand, $100 USD can provide (let’s say, for a family of four) 1 month’s worth of salary, rent, or quality meals. It can definitely cover the expenses to run a weekend educational workshop that teaches family values to youth from local villages, and even provide a scholarship to support a student’s bachelor’s degree.

The Surin SMART Youth center is a first of its kind here in Surin Province. It provides character & ethics education free for the community, educating on the importance of family, which is the school of love and the cornerstone of a prosperous personal life & society. The center also provides opportunities/connections to study and work abroad in Korea, where students can learn the language, earn more money and transferable work opportunities that may not be available in Thailand.

Yet it may be difficult to perceive from the video that the facilities are small. For a bigger and even more positive impact, we need to afford a bigger space and more modern facilities. The money towards for this fundraiser is an offering that will go towards all things supporting this center’s activities— including any renovations or innovations they decide to make.

One MAJOR hope of the center is to buy an oven in order to support a bakery café run by the center leader P. Ce, which will provide more sustainable financial support for the center’s activities, which are often funded by door-to-door fundraising.

Again, $100 goes a very long way, but ANY amount will be deeply appreciated. Please consider supporting through a donation and sharing with friends, family and colleagues.

All donors will receive progress reports throughout the next few months to view how their donations are being put into action :D
