I come to you with a heavy heart and a desperate plea. My uncle, a 66-year-old man who has been like a father to me, was recently diagnosed with advanced metastatic prostate cancer. It has spread viciously throughout his body. He has already endured his first grueling chemotherapy treatment, but the doctors say he likely has less than 60 days left.

I have been my uncle's primary caregiver, but this role has forced me to leave my job. We live 30 miles outside of town, while his treatments are a long 50 miles away in the closest city. Without a car of our own, and with his insurance unwilling to cover medical transportation costs, I don't know how we will make it to his upcoming appointments.

On top of this, we are falling behind on all our bills. Our home has no wood or propane for heat, and half the electricity doesn't even work properly. I was studying to become a Christian psychologist, but had to halt my education to care for my dear uncle.

I am coming to you with deep shame and disappointment that we have found ourselves in such dire straits. But I still have hope. Hope that the generosity of compassionate people like you will see us through this trial. Any amount you can spare would be an answer to our prayers.
