My mother is the strongest person I know. She raised me and my sister and was her full-time caretaker. She went to school while raising us, becoming a nurse. She is a light for so many people who have worked with her, for her, and the communities of Pampa, Amarillo, & El Paso Texas, as well as Carlsbad, New Mexico, and the countless communities she worked in around the country as a Nurse in Hospice and Home Health.

In December 2023, my mother went in for a routine mammogram. After she got her test results, they gave her concerns. The word cancer is always one that strikes fear into the hearts of anyone who is getting tested, and millions of women and men each year, getting the news that you might have cancer is something that you want to hear. upon further testing, she received the diagnosis.

She is not the type to ask for help. But, she needs your help.

In early February, she will undergo surgery. She currently doesn't know how much her insurance will cover, but there will be hospital bills, and also her bills at home. She is a single woman, so there is no one else to help her. She will have at least 4-6 weeks of recovery as she undergoes the process, and the bills will not stop coming. They are inevitable.

Please, anything and everything will be helpful. Spread the word. Your donation will go a long way to help ensure that this transition to what we hope is a diagnosis, becomes a story of triumph, of her road to becoming a survivor.
