Please help us raise the money needed to bring the Coast Guard Cutter Adak home to the U.S. after serving in the Middle East since 2003.

The U.S. government is preparing to give away a historic Coast Guard cutter that led the efforts to save more than 500,000 people during the tragic terror attacks on the World Trade Center in New York City on Sept. 11, 2001, but we are urgently trying to stop that.

The Coast Guard Cutter Adak is a historic ship and worthy of coming home. We have a plan in place to make the USCGC Adak into a museum to showcase Coast Guard history and to serve as a 9-11 memorial. Additionally, the ship will serve as an education platform for youth in the Tampa Bay area. It will also make trips each year to various port cities around the U.S. to showcase Coast Guard history.

We have legislation prepared and pending, a congressional sponsor and bipartisan support, but we are running out of time, as the U.S. government is preparing to officially offer the cutter to Indonesia, despite our efforts. There are several other cutters that could be provided to Indonesia instead of the Adak, and we believe that the Adak needs to come home. The Adak will help to tell the story of those who did everything they could to make sure others could live on 9/11.

If we're able to bring the Adak home, it is going to cost more than $100,000. So we've set out first goal at $150,000. One way to tell the U.S. government that you want this, is by helping raise the funds required to help pay to bring this ship home.

If we're successfuly with that, we'd like to try to cover our first year operating costs, which are expected to be $450,000. If our supoporters are that generous, we'd like to raise the full $2.5 million to fund the planned Life Saving Museum, which will host aircraft, small boats and other vehicles and artifacts used in various live-saving missions across the U.S.

If you believe the Coast Guard Cutter Adak should come back to the United States, please support our mission.

We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization called the USCGC Adak Historical Society, so your donation is tax deductable. The mission of our organization is dedicated to promoting and preserving U.S. Coast Guard, military and first-responder history.
