We finally received a response — and there is movement.

The attorneys representing the lender have agreed to move forward with a structured resolution:

• $5,000 initial payment

• $2,800 second payment

• Followed by regular monthly payments

This is the first real step toward saving my parents’ home.

For the first time in weeks, there’s a path forward — but we are not out of danger yet. These payments are time-sensitive, and we are doing everything we can right now to meet them and stop the foreclosure process.

My parents are still living with daily stress and uncertainty, but this gives us something we haven’t had in a while… hope.

UPDATE:

We wanted to share where things stand right now.

In an effort to save my parents’ home, we made a very difficult decision and cashed out $5,000 from my father’s life insurance policy. That money has been offered as a down payment to the attorneys representing the original lender, along with a proposed repayment plan.

They initially required a $10,000 down payment, which simply wasn’t possible. This $5,000 is everything we could come up with, and we’re hoping it shows we are doing everything we can in good faith.

As of now, we are still waiting to hear back on whether they will accept the proposal. We were told we would have an answer last week, but we have not received any response.

To be honest, the uncertainty is getting overwhelming.

My parents are living each day with a level of stress and anxiety I wouldn’t wish on anyone — not knowing if they’re going to lose the only home they’ve known for over 50 years.

We are still fighting for them. Still pushing. Still hoping.

Every share, prayer, and donation continues to mean more than we can ever put into words.

Help My Parents Save the Only Home They’ve Ever Known

My name is J Craig, and I’m asking for help for two of the most hardworking and humble people I know — my parents.

They are both in their 80s and have lived in the same home for more than 50 years. It’s where we grew up, where holidays were spent, and where a lifetime of memories were built. After decades of hard work, they finally paid it off.

A few years ago, they took out a small loan to make necessary repairs so the home would remain safe as they got older. Everything was manageable — until life changed overnight.

My father was diagnosed with stage 4 prostate cancer.

Medical bills quickly piled up while they were living on nothing but Social Security. Even through all of this, they continued trying to stay current and worked in good faith toward a repayment plan.

But due to a breakdown in communication, their account was charged off — and now the foreclosure process has officially begun.

We are doing everything we can to fix this. We are making calls, exploring options, and fighting to find a solution — but the reality is:

We are running out of time.

This isn’t just a house.

It’s the only home they’ve ever known.

My parents are proud people who have never asked anyone for help in their lives. They didn’t even want me to do this. But I can’t stand by and watch them lose everything they’ve worked for.
