The Republican Party in Utah has always stood for conservative values - fiscally, morally, and politically. That’s why Republican candidates have always been electable in Utah. But in recent years, Senate Bill 54 changed the Republican party.

Democrats can now switch parties, sometimes discreetly and sometimes boldly, nevertheless very cunningly. They gather signatures, run as a Republican, and circumvent the caucus and convention vetting process. Democrats then discreetly fund these Republican in-name-only candidates.

Senate Bill 54 has created a dangerous loophole in that signature petitions can be used to undermine the very foundation of our party. This eliminates the checks and balances that are provided by the grassroots-delegate vote in the state and county conventions, giving career politicians and establishment candidates an unfair advantage.

We invite you to join us in overturning SB 54. With a two-thirds majority in the Senate and House, we can reverse this betrayal and restore integrity to the Republican party in Utah.
