I have the most amazing children - and my need to create this GiveSendGo campaign is for them and my ability to continue being a dad who is present.

My name is Martin Cudo and I’m the 14th person from Minnesota arrested for being present at the US Capitol on Jan 6th 2021.

I am one of 13 people still being prosecuted under the 1512(c)(2) charge. DOJ unsealed a new superseding indictment against me to prosecute under their post-Fischer interpretation of the 1512 statute. My trial is scheduled to begin next month.

I am a non-violent J6er. I am a dad, a brother, a son, and an average everyday person like you. I love God, I love my children, and I love America!

I need help, I need funds. but not for an attorney. Throwing money at an attorney at this point in my case seems wasteful - considering the near 100% conviction rate DOJ has in J6 trials and the timeline of my trial with the government contesting requests for continuances.

I need help with the simple things like buying my teenage son deodorant, having enough toilet paper in the bathroom, and putting gas in my car. I’m pretty much unemployable until my case is over, at which point I’ll need to legally change my name (which is such a sad reality).

For the record, I committed no violence at the US Capitol. I didn’t even witness violence. I wasn’t there to overthrow the government or the election. I wasn’t even there to protest, I was there to watch a speech and regretfully followed the crowd. I was more curious than anything, but now shocked to find myself in this position.

While I know violence occurred at the Capitol that day, and some people did have bad intentions, I had no way to know what was occurring on the other side of the building as cell service was either jammed or overwhelmed. My experience that day was nothing like what is shown on TV. I didn’t partake in a riot or even witness one. I was simply at a protest and I walked in a building.

Since I was a kid, l've watched news clips of people protesting during congressional hearings, shouting at lawmakers from the balconies, and others having sit-ins within the Capitol Rotunda. Historically, these people are removed from the Capitol grounds and issued $35-50 petty misdemeanor tickets, but for me they’ve taken everything…..aside from my will to keep going.
