My wife and I have been a licensed foster family since 2021. After a series of foster placements ranging from a few days to many months, we have found ourselves with a long-term foster child who has been in our home for more than a year. She has become a part of our family since last year, and ours is the only home she has known since she was 2 months old.

Without getting into the confidential details, there are some complications with her case that make reunification unsafe. Even though DSS, the Guardian Ad Litem, and the family court agree that her permanent plan should be adoption, her case is more complex and is being contested.

In order to prevent this little girl from being removed from the only home she knows, we had no other choice than to take private legal action. We are told the legal fees may exceed $50,000. We weren't prepared financially for this expense, but we had no choice but to say "yes" and trust the Lord to provide.
