I'm running for Warrenton Town Council for Ward 5 in the November 7th, 2023 election.

If elected to represent you on the Town Council for Ward 5, I promise:

• To preserve Warrenton’s small-town character by blocking excessive spending and debt: With my vote on the council, we can block this massive Town expansion plan to keep small-town Warrenton, while making prudent investments in critical infrastructure, like water and sewer systems, to manage our Town on a more fiscally sound basis;

• To restore open government and represent your voice: I will vote to release the 3,100 hidden e-mails on the Amazon project, and will vote to launch an investigation into Brandie Schaefer’s hiring by Amazon to a lucrative job there while she was serving as Town Manager and working with Amazon to guide this project through the Town’s approval process. I will also work to put new policies and procedures in place to make our Town government more responsive to YOU, the citizens our local government are supposed to be serving;

• To stop any new data centers, including the current Blackwell Road project: I will vote to stop any new data centers in Town, and, if the current litigation against the Amazon data center project on Blackwell Road is successful, I will vote to reject this project if it is re-submitted to the Town Council for approval

Running for Town Council was the last thing on my mind six months ago when I started getting involved in opposing the Amazon data center project. But, after discovering how our Town government has detached itself from the will of its own citizens, and how it’s moving quickly to turn Warrenton into another Manassas or Fairfax, I decided to do something about it.

I promise to work hard to earn your vote during my campaign this Summer and Fall, and to represent your interests, defend your public health and property values, and restore open and responsive Town government here in Warrenton, and I ask for your vote this November 7th.
