Defended America: Healing Our Heroes

Defended America is a forthcoming nonprofit organization dedicated to addressing the unseen wounds that afflict United States military combat veterans who have experienced the traumas of war. Our mission is to fully fund the expenses required to send these veterans to activity and group-based healing programs.

These unseen wounds include combat-related post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and other associated mental health challenges such as anxiety, depression, anger, isolation, and hypervigilance. Many combat veterans suffer from severe PTSD that often remains untreated due to the inadequate support provided by the Department of Veterans Affairs and other organizations.

The core issue is that existing approaches tend to be one-size-fits-all, attempting to address a complex and deeply personal problem. Our solution is to provide veterans with access to activity and group-based healing programs specifically designed to offer holistic support, helping them regain control of their lives and reintegrate into society.

These programs are structured to rekindle the camaraderie veterans experienced during their service, fostering lasting bonds among participants. The support network established within these programs continues long after the sessions end, creating a lifeline for veterans in need.

While numerous healing programs exist across the country, their impact is often limited by a lack of exposure and support. Defended America's mission is to identify and send veterans to the most suitable activity and group-based healing programs, enabling them to regain permanent control over their lives.
