It’s been said that people who are becoming more like Christ “don’t keep track anymore.” If this were not the case, each one of us would have an unpayable debt owed to Debbie Pease, the wife, mother and friend we have all come to love.

Few people in this world know how to give of themselves with reckless abandon as Debbie did. Even fewer succeed in developing a heart of compassion paired with a backbone of steel – something Debbie did, seemingly without effort.

If you are visiting this page, then you are probably feeling just as we are – shocked, hurting, reeling from the news.

You are also feeling the same urge we are – the urge to do something.

Countless friends have asked “What can I do?”

The family has not asked for anything – but this page has been created because we believe Debbie’s answer to our question – What can I do? – would be “Please, care for my family, and pray.”

That is the purpose of this webpage - a place where we can step up to care for the family of our dear friend. To bless them in this time of immense grief.

The coming weeks will include significant expenses for the Pease family, and we want to relieve this burden. We want to ensure that
-    All of Debbie’s family is able to travel home (without delay)
-    All of the burdens for the upcoming celebration of life are covered
-    All of Debbie’s family and friends are able to celebrate her life without stress or burden over finances

Service Details
Visitation Service - Liturgical wake service will be 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Wednesday, May 15th, at Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Centerville, SD.

Funeral Service - Mass of Christian burial will be 10:00 am Thursday, May 16, also at Good Shepherd Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Saint Columbkille Cemetery.

Honoring an amazing mother on Mother’s Day weekend

Debbie took her passion for the role of motherhood far beyond what many are capable of doing. She not only cared for her own children, but invested countless hours in the lives of mothers across South Dakota. Whether advocating for mothers at the state capitol, coaching mothers as they grew their family, or simply being a listening ear or shoulder to lean on, Debbie Pease was a wife, mother and grandmother worth emulating.

This Mother’s Day weekend, help us honor the mother who’s passing leaves behind a painful hole in our hearts where she used to stand as wife, mother, grandma, and friend.

Bringing together her many circles of influence
Debbie took her role as the “hands and feet of Christ” to heart, and was regularly investing in ministry and service in her community. Whether you met Debbie through her time teaching in Centerville Public School, her efforts to help expecting mothers, her service at Broom Tree Retreat Center, her commitment to Good Shepherd Catholic Church, her work with the local Republican chapter, or her lobbying efforts with Birth Matters, SD Right to Life, Families for Alternative Instruction Rights (FAIRSD), & SD Family Voice, you saw right away that Debbie put feet to her faith.

We invite each of these communities of friends to join with us in celebrating Debbie and honoring her legacy.

Debbie’s friends (Norman, Julie, and Mary) are co-operating this fund to efficiently provide Quint with funds this week so he doesn’t have to give this any thought. We would like to present a very sizable check by the night of the wake service with all the funds donated up to that point. In the weeks ahead, Quint will be established as the direct recipient and able to withdraw the funds directly.
