When it come's to learning, it's not one-size-fits-all. Every child is unique and has a different life purpose than the next, so their learning path should be different than others too. Many children need a hands-on, in-the-moment approach with real-life practice that allows them to discover this purpose and dig-in to wherever it leads them. Unfortunately, with most public school approaches, our children are often required to learn the same thing at the same pace as every other child  and it rarely matches up to what they need to know for their own path. This usually leads to our children being bored out of their minds because it's too slow or not appealing to them. They start acting out, causing trouble or look for attention in unhealthy and ineffective ways. Instead of addressing the approach to learning, these kids are labeled as the problem child or not smart enough and are often drugged, held behind or pushed ahead for the next person to deal with. So many families turn to homeschooling to creative a better learning environment that fits their children's needs and challenges them, but it's expensive and lacks the group connection all humans need to develop fully. Our family has been homeschooling for over 5 years and have experienced what so many other families out there have on their homeschooling journeys - not being able to find a group learning environment that matches the type of environment we've created at home. So we decided to build one! With God leading our hearts, opportunities have lined up for us to create this new type of environment and what has come together has been such a blessing already. Rather than spending our time together memorizing every subject we can get our hands on, our environment focuses on helping children develop a strong foundation rooted in family, problem solving and communication skills, as well as Godly character traits like integrity, responsibility, stewardship, attentiveness, patience, and honor - all in a group setting designed specifically to fit the needs of families instead of families trying to fit us. We do this by offering our local homeschooling community multi-week long sessions all year 'round. Each session's theme focuses on a single Godly character trait and provides opportunities to practice it through educational experiences such as science/lab experiments, STEM classes, math games, team cooking challenges, group games and activities, life skills practice, starting a business, first aid training, career quests, bible science and studies, and so much more! Children are encouraged to choose their own classes and have tons of input on what type of experiences we put in front of them. Every dollar raised goes 100% into providing group learning experiences and activities for our local homeschooling families. The amount we are hoping to raise will help create so many group learning opportunities for these amazing children as well as help us cover rental fees, insurance costs, provide materials for activities, create scholarships for those who can't afford to come, pay instructor fees and so much more!
