The Mallory family needs your help. Kimberly Mallory, the incredible mother of #mallorynation and the Program Director at Camp Gilead, has endured a long journey battling rectal cancer and we are reaching out to her community to help raise funds to cover some of her medical expenses.

Kimberly’s aggressively spreading stage 4 cancer requires immediate treatment. Fortunately, on Thursday, June 6th she is scheduled to begin an approximately 18-month weekly chemo series at LifeSpring Cancer Treatment Center in Seattle, along with weekly supplemental infusion treatments and radiation. After reviewing multiple options, it has been determined this is the best course of treatment for Kimberly’s specific cancer case.

We’re thankful Kimberly’s insurance will cover needed radiation treatments and all of the lab work. However, it won’t cover her weekly metronomic chemo treatments, or the additional weekly supplemental infusions her body will require during treatment.

As you can imagine, chemo and supplemental infusions are extremely costly. Full payment for each treatment will be required at the time each treatment is administered. It is estimated that a payment of $2,000 will be needed for treatment each week, for approximately 18-months (78 weeks), estimating a total of $156k. Will you please consider helping Kimberly by donating, which will purchase treatments she desperately needs?

Josh and Kimberly will not be able to pay $2,000 each week for the required treatments. It is imperative that treatment begins on 6/6 and continues each week thereafter. The success of the treatments will determine how long each regimen lasts and what the next one will look like. The typical length of treatment with this type of chemo regimen is 12-18 months. We are erring on the side of caution and are hoping to raise enough money to cover the cost if she needs the longer length of treatment. 

The first round will be 12 weeks and will cost an estimated $24,000. This is our first fundraising goal. Blood tests, including liquid biopsies and tumor marker tests, will be used frequently to determine the effectiveness of treatment. Scans will be used to further determine the effectiveness of treatment. This treatment will be tailored to Kimberly's needs and how well her body is or isn't responding to the current treatment. 

A separate checking account has been set up for the Mallorys dedicated to chemo and supplemental infusion expenditures, and funds raised through this platform will go directly into that account, from which the required weekly payments can be made.

Imagine the peace of mind they will have knowing payment for each regimen is already waiting in this bank account. 

We are trusting that Kimberly’s community will come around the Mallory family to give them exactly what they need to get through this time. If extra funds are raised, they will go to pay incidental costs associated with these treatments (travel expenses, etc.), and any remaining funds will be donated directly to a specific project at Camp Gilead.
