PROGRESS UPDATE ON CENTRE OF MERCY MEDICAL CLINIC UNDER CONSTRUCTION IN UGANDA.

We're thrilled to share that work has resumed at the Centre of Mercy Medical Clinic, all thanks to your incredible support. This project is crucial, aiming to significantly reduce the mortality rates of mothers and their babies by offering accessible healthcare.

Currently, we're focusing on flooring and will soon proceed to installing doors and plastering walls. The next steps include acquiring water tanks, installing a solar system, and securing other essential items for the clinic to start operations. We'll provide a detailed list of needs in my next update.

Most women in Uganda often lose their lives and their babies' lives due to the lack of medical facilities in these areas. The 'Centre of Mercy' Medical Clinic aims to change that by providing much-needed medical care and support to these women and their families.However, we still need your help to make this project a reality. The construction of this Medical Clinic is God’s work and we are God’s instruments. Behind us are a large force of Saints and Patrons interceding for God’s will to be done. 

After prayer and meditation, the following inspiration was received: the various rooms are to be named after a various group of Saints/Patrons. This will give donors the opportunity to donate toward the completion of the rooms for the Saints/Patrons they have a special devotion to, and the Saints/Patrons will continue to further the mission of Hope through their intercessions.

AN EXCITING UPCOMING OPPORTUNITY TO BE PART OF THE CENTRE OF MERCY MEDICAL CLINIC in UGANDA 

Dear friends of Hope, we continue to praise God for His Mercy and Love for this center of Mercy clinic under construction by God’s Grace through your donations. It will serve women in Uganda who often lose their lives and their babies’ lives due to lack of medical facilities in the remote villages of Kamwenge, western Uganda. 

The Ring Beam stage which entails the concrete (sand, cement and crushed stones mixed), to reinforce the building along its sides, sharing in the transmission of horizontal forces’ is getting completed and then we proceed to the roofing. We shall use timber and pre-painted iron roofing sheets. Each roofing sheet costs $17. We need 417 roofing iron sheets to have the Centre of Mercy medical clinic roofed.

Hello dear friends people of God.

Thank you for your help that you have given to the poorest villages of western Uganda, under Wind of Hope Initiative.

Among the many life changing projects you have supported is now the Center of Mercy Health Clinic whose construction is in it's early stages and with faith and hope, it will be realized.

The work which started with grading of a bushy ground, digging of the foundation and proceeded with the buying of some of the construction materials has been put on a halt by the heavy rains in the area.

The roads are muddy and transportation of materials to start the construction is still a challenge as seen in the videos below.

We pray that the weather stabilizes and the work resumes.

Components like wire mesh, hard core, iron bars to hold the slab together shall be used and then the foundation wall shall be raised with bricks, sand and cement.

THE HILLS OF MERCY: In Comparison with Pio’s Casa and the “Centre of Mercy” Clinic in Uganda.

Every day after Mass, I do either 30 minutes or one hour of Adoration. As I was in Adoration in deep prayer, this is what I received: ‘The Lord was telling me about the small seed that grows to be the largest tree where birds of the air come and find shelter.’ This was in relation to Padre Pio’s thought that ‘A seed has been placed in the soil, which He will warm up with the rays of His love.’ This was during the inauguration of the Casa in 1956. 

My interpretation of what I received in adoration was that the “Centre of Mercy,” with its humble beginnings, will grow and be a sigh of relief for so many — the reason I compare the two centres of God’s Mercy. 

In 2016, while doing community needs assessment and social work in Busiriba, Kanimi, one of the remote villages in western Uganda, I witnessed how many children, women and men were living below the poverty line and were facing life-threatening challenges, such as hunger, the lack of basic needs of life, most especially, food, shelter, clothing, lack of education and health care. 

I started conducting some charity work within the area, and was later joined by other passionate friends who have extended support due to the increase of day-to-day community needs that required an extra hand. 

From my daily updates on Facebook for all my friends, who are not in Uganda to know and journey with me as far as work on the ground is concerned, I can say that, “The Lord is Merciful.” 

From the Bushy hills in the remote villages has come a ray of Hope and Mercy, with the Lord Blessing his people with a school called “Mary Queen of Peace.” 

In the early years of Padre Pio’s mission, he found himself surrounded by sick people and he never closed his eyes to physical illness. He considered the doctors as a necessity… He didn’t seek refuge in agnosticism that is ignoring the body to only confide uniquely in prayer, and he insisted that they be cared for. Padre Pio stated: “...In every sick person there is Jesus who suffers. In every poor person Jesus languishes. In every poor sick person there is Jesus who suffers and languishes twice over...”

I was inspired to extend God’s Love to these people, not only in prayer, but also caring about their physical health.  The words of Padre Pio give us more reasons to have this facility of MARY, ARK OF THE NEW COVENANT- CENTER OF MERCY CLINIC constructed in the bushy hills of the remote villages of Uganda. What a resemblance of the 2 hills! I take it as an affirmation of God’s Will in Uganda through the Holy Spirit’s kindness. 

This clinic is greatly needed and it will be lifesaving. 

As we begin this season of Lent, think about supporting this cause that will save many lives.
