Who is James Topp?

My name is James Topp, I am a Warrant Officer with 28 years in the Canadian Army in both regular force and primary reserves.I was placed on leave without pay from my public service position and am currently in the process of being released from the Canadian Armed Forces under release item code 5F because of my non-participation in the mandate requiring disclosure of vaccination status as a term of employment.

As a form of peaceful protest I have marched 4293 Km on foot from the Terry Fox Statue in Vancouver to The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Ottawa. On June 22nd because of the efforts of concerned Canadians, myself and the Canada Marches team obtained a meeting with 24 Members of Parliament. On June 30th I arrived at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Ottawa and was joined by thousands of Canadians and veterans in a peaceful, orderly march where we observed a moment of silence.

This was a celebration of our arrival and also time to honour those members of the military, law enforcement, first responders, front line nurses, and other public servants that have devoted their lives to the service of the Canadian public.

Why is James Topp marching?

Since 18th of July 2022 myself and the Canada Marches team have resumed the march from Signal Hill in St. John’s, Newfoundland and we continue in the pursuit of a resolution to the injustice of mandates imposed during the fall of 2021. My protest exists for the following reasons:

1. I am protesting federal government mandates:

a. that require, as a condition for employment or continued employment, vaccination, testing, quarantine, and/or isolation;

b. that require proof of vaccination or taking part in an attestation process; and

c. that arbitrarily place employees or members on leave without pay or termination of employees should they disagree with the policy.

2. I have stepped forward to speak on behalf of those personnel employed by the federal government who have been denied access to employment and services, who have lost income and suffered from damaged relationships due to the imposition of a medical procedure;

3. I have stepped forward to speak on behalf of members of the CAF that are still suffering from the effects of the CDS directive regarding vaccination and whose objections to the policy resulted in the destruction of their careers;

4. I have also stepped forward to speak on behalf of those who have been pressured into taking part in medical procedures that they would not otherwise have accepted.

Why is Canada Marches and James Topp fundraising?

Since the beginning of the march, my efforts and those of my team - Canada Marches - have been ignored by mainstream media. After June 22nd the mainstream media switched to framing and ad hominem attacks through clever use of language and conflating events and concepts in order to distract attention from the issue at hand.

Throughout this I have extended an open invitation to ALL members of the press and public to join me on the march and find out first hand why I am marching.This offer was largely ignored by members of the mainstream media - nevertheless they still wrote articles in which they mentioned my name in order to defame and stymie our efforts in achieving effective communication with our elected representatives.

The ad hominem attacks towards my reputation culminated on August 18th in a Global News article which had the following URL link: https://globalnews.ca/news/9050117/stephanie-mcevoy-march-james-topp-white-supremacists-far-right/.

This resulted in my team sending out cease and desist letters as well as contracting professional legal services in order to engage them in pursuing a defamation lawsuit.

Now that I have secured appropriate legal services, I seek your support in funding this endeavour so we can focus on fighting back against fallacious reporting by the corporate media, continuing the march, and establishing communication with our representatives and officials at the federal government level.

Upon completion of our journey unused funds will be donated to Wounded Warriors, Veteran Farmers and Real Canadian Recreation (RCR).
