💫 The Portal 2:20 Teen Center is on a mission to #BuildUpTeens!

* Do you know a teen who may be struggling to find their purpose? Struggling to make friends, or to fit in?

* What about a teen involved in lots of things but at times seems lost or disconnected?

The mission of the Portal 2:20 Teen Center is to make a difference in the lives of teenagers who feel out of place, misjudged, lonely or disconnected by providing a safe place where teens can connect, build friendships and learn the Truth about their purpose in life.

We exist so that every teen knows they are loved, worthy, valuable and enough!

💫 What we advertise is a safe place for teens to go and hang out, play games and have fun. That is the draw. A tool we use to successfully pull kids away from their isolation and into a community. The teens that come to Portal come from all walks of life and from many different schools. The way we operate encourages the teens to interact with one another, giving them a way to get to know each other without the awkwardness of having to strike up a conversation or the cheesyness of get-to-know-you activities. Its a place to play and have fun. But along the way, kids slowly come out of their shell, learn to make friends and gain confidence in who they are. A teen once decribed us like this: "Portal is not a place, it's a people." Which is so true! The Portal 2:20 Teen Center is not about the building and the stuff- those are just tools- it's about the friendships and community the kids make while they are there.

The Portal 2:20 Teen Center is currently operating inside a local church that has graciously offered us a place to do so. However, it is only a temporary arrangement. Although the church allows us to give the kids a physical space, it isnt the ideal situation, nor is it a place where we can operate on a full-time schedule or scale.

We are working towards building a brand new facility that will not only give us our own space to utilize on a full-time schedule, but also allow us to create an environment catered directly to teens. With the generous donation of property located near 211 N. Lynn St (behind Memorial Park), along with hiring a local building company we are working towards making that vision a reality. The next step is raising the funds needed to move forward.

The all new teen center will feature various video games, arcade games, pool tables, Foosball, air hockey, as well as various board and card games. Teens will be able to relax in our comfortable lounge area and enjoy foods from our concession stand and snack bar. The stage will be set for music, movies, karaoke, dancing and more!

💫 Portal 2:20 Teen Center is a faith-based non-profit organization making a difference in the lives of teenagers. Our organization was founded in 2015, and our first location opened its doors in February of 2017. We are comitted to serving those who feel out of place, misjudged, lonely or disconnected. We do this by providing a place where teens can connect and build friendships while providing them an uplifting and encouraging atmosphere where they are shown the love of Jesus Christ.
