July 21, 2023: Brian and I have been at Oasis of Hope Hospital for 29 days. Brian's current condition is stable, but very serious in the ICU. Main prayer request is for the kidney to start working again.

June 23, We flew a direct delta flight from Detroit to San Diego, CA. The hospital met us with a van and drove us across the border to Tijuana, MX. The head doctor evaluated Brian and went straight for the Dendritic Cell Therapy. It is the best form of treatment the hospital has to offer. It takes Brian's blood and trains his cells to locate and kill the cancer cells. Up until now, Brian's body has allowed the cancer to grow because the immune system didn't recognize the threat. Now it will.

On July 4th, Brian because so medically unstable, I just wanted to fly him home. Abigail, Phil, &Sam were here by our sides. With Abigail's nursing background, she saw that her dad couldn't make the journey home. We prayed about it and I waited to talk to the doctors in Ohio. If they gave us hope, we would try getting home. If hospice was the only answer, we would stay here. God answered our cry and made it clear we are to find healing in Mexico at Oasis of Hope.

On July 5th, Brian was taken to the Intensive Care Unit in Oasis. He was fighting pneumonia, thrush, cancer, kidney failure, etc. On July 6th, the doctors intubated Brian to allow his body to rest and heal. The hospital got a dialysis company to come administer a slow dialysis to gently clean Brian's blood for 3 days. That went well, so they started daily the 3 hour dialysis. He received that for 7 days.

Brian's blood panel is balanced and all numbers are good. July 20 marked 2 weeks of being intubated. It was the maximum time on that equipment. The doctors want to slowly wake Brian up and get him off oxygen. So the doctors did a surgery to place a tracheostomy. Brian is healing from that surgery this morning. We are looking forward to him waking up and his kidney to start working.

Brian is a fighter. God is hearing our prayers and continues to strengthen Brian. We ask God for more time to heal and for Brian's testimony to witness God's goodness.
