Bella Davide, a fifth-grade student at Jackson Local Schools, recently faced a challenging diagnosis of stage 2b Hodgkin lymphoma—but her fighting spirit promises that this cancer doesn’t stand a chance! 

Bella’s journey began with a fever and persistent cough, leading to an initial diagnosis of pneumonia. On October 7, her condition took a concerning turn, prompting another visit to the doctor. A chest X-ray revealed that her pneumonia had worsened, and a lesion above her heart was discovered. Bella was then transferred to Akron Children’s Hospital for further evaluation. A CT scan confirmed the presence of a mass, and she was admitted to the hospital. On October 11, Bella underwent surgery to biopsy a lymph node located below her neck, and unfortunately, the results confirmed the heartbreaking diagnosis of stage 2b Hodgkin lymphoma. The start of Bella’s recovery began on October 21, with her first chemotherapy treatment.
