On what should’ve been a night of celebration, De’Ron—a professional arena football player—was violently arrested by Officer James Leclaire in Shreveport, Louisiana. De’Ron was out with his team, commemorating their victory, when the night took a horrific turn. He was brutally beaten while in custody by Officer Leclaire, a name tragically familiar in the community for his violent track record.

Officer Leclaire’s history of abuse is well-documented. In 2022, he was acquitted after a man died from injuries sustained while in his custody. Despite this alarming past, he remains on the force—and now, another life has been devastated under his authority.

The media has tried to paint De’Ron as a menace, twisting the narrative and obscuring the truth. But those who know him, know better. De’Ron is not only a talented athlete but a respectful, humble, and hard-working young man with dreams bigger than any headline can diminish. This is not just about defending De’Ron—it’s about defending truth, accountability, and the right to be seen as human in a system that too often denies that.
