Sudden Abuse of Power Appeal

SUDDEN ABUSE OF POWER APPEAL

Help us to remain steady on the path of light in a world filled with darkness, is our humble cry for help. We are in need of funds to assist us in meeting a strict deadline for a village ordinance thrust upon us as God-fearing and law abiding citizens in an apparent multi-leveled retaliation by bad actors. The details of the suspected targeting are a matter for another place, time and authority/Authority. So with full trust and confidence in Divine Providence and a tight budget, we come to you our friends and family, both known and unknown for financial assistance to see to this task with honor and dignity.

We, Jeff and Jen, have been lifelong servants and volunteers to our family, local faith community and neighbors, visitors and strangers helping their brethren in times of need with the talents/skills/home grown edibles and lifetime acquired tangibles that we have been the benefactors of, often for no charge and with our added pleasure. With God as our witness, you can be certain that in the days ahead any and all gifts of charity will be paid back two-fold in prayer and service to others as a rippling effect.

Due to a series of accidents and injuries, working in the fields of our expertise is no longer an option resulting in us being unemployed and underemployed sporadically for over a decade, shortly after the purchase of the house in need of some long overdue and sadly not budgeted painting, repair and maintenance. Sensing we were maliciously singled out by less than stellar characters for attempting to be the responsible community members, we were rather tickled to learn that the exact paint color palette we found that match our desired choices are named, "Fog" (like the Fog of War) and "After The Storm" like the current battle before us - we kid you not.

The village violation notice, estimate , and God incidential color pallete schemewe have choosen, are on file and available for viewing upon request. This is our first funding request ever, and preferably our last. Forgive us if we may appear to be raw and unrehearsed in this plea since we are in fact newbies to this method of outreach being requested of others. We are and have always been content to live within our means and down to earth, requiring very little else.

Thank you kindly for your interest, time, donation, and/or prayers on our behalf. May the Lord bless and keep you and yours safe and well. With great fraternal love and affection. Jeff & Jen

Update #2

August 25th, 2024

It has been a while since we've posted, and are pleased to be back. We have had a flurry of new trials and challenges, including personal and familial illnesses and obligations to tend to.

We are blessed to have our exterior home needed repair done and are still seeing to interior ones, on a tight(er) budget. We KNOW we are not alone and are ever so grateful for the charity of strangers, and of family/friends. My dear sister and her family came through in helping us monetarily as we lent our skills to assist her in her needs. We truly sense that is where our ever changing society is headed. Neighbor helping neighbor.

On the bright side (and there always is one) the abuse from our Village Code Enforcement Office has ceased for the time being. Target seems to be off our backs. We were also given the gift of an unexpected small windfall from a stipend account that helped us recover almost 1/2 of the cost from our "rainy day" fund used for this dire deadline/threat. We have adjusted our goal, accordingly.

Thank God and you all for your love and care. Know that each of you and yours are in our hearts and our prayers.

Update #1

May 23rd, 2024

It seems as if the floodgates opened up, bringing many new challenges into the midst of our sudden and unexpected turn of events.

Please pardon our silence for a time as we tended to these matters which included violent storms that delayed our contractors ability to work. Additionally our primary painter's partner had a life/death automobile accident that totaled his work truck on the anticipated first day of duty. By the grace of God, he was able to walk away mostly unharmed and report to work the following day. Torrential rains caused our home to suffer leaking into our basement permanently damaging our tile celling. Our central air conditioning unit, which we turned on for the first time this year due to the record high temperatures, malfunctioned and flooded our basement floors. If that was not enough the toilet on the main floor is backed up and our plumbing/sewers are in need of maintenance. When it rains, it pours, literally in our case. Sigh.

As we work around the obstacles placed on out paths, we've noticed an uncommon frequent presence of our Village's Code Enforcement vehicles around our home. This seems indicative of strong-arm tactics on their part. We sense that they will continue to seek out other violations in a nefarious pursuit to attempt to break our spirits and/or bank.

We therefor continue to humbly appeal for prayers and monetary support as we lift each other up in these days of oppression in our ongoing dilemma.

We are sincerely grateful for you taking the time to read, share and support us and will indeed keep you post in the meantime and charitably pay it forward at every available turn, which has long been and remain our nature.
