This campaign is to purchase assistive equipment for Ron Meldrum.

Ron pastored for 13 years and preached in churches throughout the South and Midwest for four more years. He served for ten years on the board of directors of Hope Haven Gospel Mission (5 years as chairman), a Christian homeless shelter and soup kitchen in Lewiston, Maine.

In 2018, he was diagnosed with a tumor on his brain and has experience significant decline in health and mobility since then. While the tumor is not malignant, it has caused a number of debilitating issues, one of which is rapid weight gain, which has lead to a serious heart arrhythmia and congestive heart failure.

He now sleeps in a recliner in order to keep his feet up to reduce swelling and to keep his head elevated to improve breathing.

Ron's mobility is very limited. We are launching this campaign to get him a heavy-duty power lift chair which will serve as both a chair and bed for him, and improve his ability to get up and down with minimal assistance so that he is able to move around more and be more independent.

The goal for this campaign includes the cost of the lift chair and shipping. If funds are raised beyond what is needed for the chair, they will be used to get a battery backup for his CPAP machine for use during power outages.
