In the summer of 2021, Rod Jenkins, a dedicated registered nurse with over 30 years of experience, faced an impossible choice: comply with Valley Health System's COVID-19 vaccine mandate or stay true to his deeply held Christian beliefs. Despite his years of exemplary service, Rod's request for a religious accommodation was denied without explanation, and he was terminated from his position in December 2021.

Rod's case is about more than one individual—it's about protecting the rights of every person to practice their faith freely, without facing harassment or discrimination in the workplace. Rod's experience of being subjected to ridicule for his beliefs and ultimately losing his job because of them has led him to take legal action against Valley Health. He is fighting for accountability and for the religious freedoms that all of us deserve.
