Help Rachel Receive a New Kidney & Pancreas

My little sister, Rachel, is 25 years old and loves the Lord. She is one of the most compassionate people I know, while also being one of the most straightforward and honest. She loves life and enjoys every part of it she can, no matter what's going on. She is one of the biggest blessings God has ever given me, so I'm helping fundraise for her to have the best quality of life she can.

Rachel was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at the age of 7. From a young age, she learned how to manage daily finger pricks, insulin injections, and the constant responsibility that comes with living with Type 1 diabetes. For much of her life, she did this without health insurance, adapting and persevering through circumstances she never chose.

A few years ago, Rachel was able to begin using a Dexcom continuous glucose monitor and an Omnipod insulin pump, which significantly improved her ability to manage her diabetes and brought more stability to her daily life.

Last year, doctors determined that Rachel’s kidneys were failing. At her most recent evaluation, her kidney function was measured at approximately 15%, and she now undergoes dialysis several times a week. Dialysis has become a regular part of her life as she continues to move forward with determination and resolve.

Rachel is in the process of being listed for a kidney and pancreas transplant. A successful double transplant would address both her kidney failure and Type 1 diabetes, potentially freeing her from dialysis and insulin for the first time in 18 years.

To prepare for transplant, Rachel has had to change insurance providers so that her transplant hospital and care would be covered. This necessary step has increased monthly insurance premiums and prescription copays, adding to the financial strain alongside ongoing dialysis treatments, medications, travel, and time away from work.

Throughout this entire journey, Rachel has remained resilient and relentless, refusing to give up even when the process has been long and demanding. As a family, we are trusting God, taking each step as it comes, and believing for healing and provision. No matter what happens, we know that He is good.

This fundraiser is intended to help cover medical and transplant-related expenses, allowing Rachel to continue moving forward without the constant pressure of financial burden. Any support given helps make space for rest, healing, and preparation for what lies ahead.
