Support for Nova pre & post op

UPDATE 4/30/26:

Nova is healing incredibly well. She is looking forward to getting the stitches out very soon! However, she has had a temporary suspension of her drivers license until time proves she will be seizure free. This might be six months. She will need to find employment closer to where she is staying now. But first she has to heal.

A good chunk of what we raised so far has gone to gas, phone bill and car insurance. She has applied for disability, but as many of you know, that could take some time. So I'm sharing this again in hopes that she can get a little more support.

Every little bit helps and know we are incredibly grateful for the outpouring of prayers and support.

Hello everyone, Nova's mama Samantha here.

As many of you already know, I got a call from Nova's boyfriend on Easter Sunday, telling me Nova had fallen down in the grocery store, had 2 seizures and he was following her in an ambulance to the hospital. I happened to be at my amazing friends house & she immediately sprang into action to give me a ride to the hospital, (I was scared senseless & an emotional wreck & not sure if I could even have driven myself without a long calm-down period first).

Seeing Nova at the hospital in her post seizure state was even more frightening, but after a couple hours & some medication, she started to return to her usual self. I was so grateful!

After a CT scan and MRI, it was determined that she had something known as an AVM or "anteriovenous malformation" in her brain. This is a congenital, abnormal tangle of blood vessels that connects arteries directly to veins without capillaries in between. This can disrupt normal blood flow and lead to serious complications, such as bleeding or damage to surrounding tissues. In Nova's case, it was determined she had an earlier bleed and then a subsequent one, that led to the seizures that landed her in the hospital. Thankfully they were able to quickly stabilize her & administer ongoing & effective anti-seizure medication.

She is now 7 days into her hospital stay & is tentatively scheduled for embolization & resection surgery this coming week, on April 16th.

I will be going to visit tomorrow, using the last of my personal funds to pay for gas & parking ($35-$40).

Nova has also lost all work income. I will be helping her apply for disability benefits tomorrow, but in the meantime, we are scrambling to make ends meet, pay the bills & afford much needed pre & post-op supplements & healthy foods for her prep & recovery. Hospital food is atrociously processed & not conducive to healing. I do NOT want her eating much of it, if any. She feels the same.

As well, there are supplements that can support surgery prep & recovery that I don't currently have in my apothecary, ( though I thankfully have a couple that will be of benefit).

After tomorrow, I will not have enough money for gas or parking to visit, or to bring food & support & love on my bebee.

The last thing I wanted to do was crowdfund, but I'm feeling desperate & stressed out.

If you feel called to & are able to donate, we would appreciate it tremendously! Prayers are even more valuable to me & know I sincerely appreciate the energy & will pay it forward.

I will be sure to update this as we approach surgery & through recovery.

Thank you so much!
