Hi, my name is Lance, and I’ve always had a hard time asking for help. I don’t like it, I don’t expect much, and I’m honestly surprised I’m even doing this — but I’m at a place in life where I just don’t know what else to do.

By the grace of God, I’ve been sober since May 16, 2020. Almost five years. That journey hasn’t been easy, but I’m still here. I’m also dealing with some medical issues that may be serious, and mentally it’s been a struggle lately. I’m just trying to take care of myself in small ways, so I can stay strong for the people who count on me.

Right now, I’d love to be able to get a metal detector and a fishing rod and reel — not for luxury, but for peace, movement, and purpose. It’s something to help my mental health, my physical health, and just give me a reason to get outside and breathe.

If this campaign goes further than I expect (which honestly, I don’t), anything extra would go toward continuing that goal — whether it’s other small hobbies, things for my family, or just to have a little breathing room. I’m not looking for handouts. I’m just trying to do a few good things for myself, so I can keep showing up for my family and not lose the progress I’ve made.
