Yousef endured months of torture in Gaza, and after surviving long enough to evacuate he now faces a new hardship in Egypt. He in unable to find steady work right now. Yousef is a proud young man with a pure, if not slightly broken heart. In his own words:

My name is Yousef. For as long as I can remember I have carried the weight of two places that never felt safe enough: Gaza, where I was born into fear and loss, and Egypt, where I sought refuge and stability but still felt trapped by paperwork, borders, and hardship. I am asking for help so I can finally travel — to be free, to heal, and to rebuild my life with dignity.

Growing up in Gaza meant living with constant uncertainty. Basic needs, freedom of movement, and dreams were fragile and often out of reach. I left for Egypt hoping for a chance to breathe, to work, and to be safe — but the reality has been another kind of confinement. Legal obstacles, limited economic opportunities, and the emotional toll of displacement have blocked every path forward. I have faced long days of struggle and nights of worry, knowing that the smallest change — a passport, a plane ticket, a safe place to land — could transform everything. 

Despite everything, I have not given up on life or my dream of freedom. I want the chance to travel, to heal, and to live with dignity — free from war, exploitation, and constant fear. This fundraiser is my last hope to make that possible.
