If you’re reading this, we have something in common –
This Guy: Harrison ‘Not Ford’ Gruman has touched your life and you know you’re better off for it.
In one way or another, Harrison has helped us all, and now he needs our help.
Back in October – Harrison was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer. Not wanting to concern his friends until he had a better understanding and plan in place, he chose not to spread the news. After a few months doing his research and getting 2nd and 3rd opinions from UAB and MD Anderson who were citing 30% success rates, Harrison has pursued treatment at the Envita Clinic in Scottsdale, AZ. The good news, is they are boasting 80% success rates for their advanced, targeted therapies with far fewer side-effects than conventional chemo-therapy and Harrison’s treatment is well under way. The bad news is that this treatment is NOT covered by insurance.
I will let Harrison tell you more about his condition, his treatment, his prognosis and the incredible people and facilities at Envita, but since he’s not one to ask for help, I’m going to do that. The cost for Harrison’s treatment has been running about $13,000 per week since January, and he’s now at a critical juncture. His consult this week was positive, indicating that the next step in his treatment plan will be Envita’s CIPI (Chemo Immuno Precision Injections). The CIPI surgery by itself costs in the $20,000 - $40,000 range, and requires follow-ups in addition to that. The goal for this campaign is to cover that cost, or at least get close enough in the next few weeks to remove any doubts Harrison is having about continuing this advanced treatment. Learn more about Envita’s advanced treatment and CIPI here: https://www.envitair.com.
From Alabama to Santa Cruz to Cape Cod, to the Florida Panhandle, this remarkable man has lived many lives in many places and has many, many friends. I’m confident that if we can all focus our healing energy, our prayers and if possible, our donations on eliminating Harrison’s tumor, we can help ensure that he’s with us to share his music, stories, antics and greeting-card artwork for many years to come.
All funds donated go directly to Harrison Gruman for his medical expenses not covered by insurance.
Thank you

Thank you - each and everyone from the bottom and top of my heart. Your contributions have overwhelmed me and allowed me to undergo the CIPI treatment, which was hoped to my tumor. Tumors have a mind of their own.
I got marginal results from the treatment and am now taking re-purposed medications for pancreatic cancer. I'm still upright, laughing, playing music, and ok with whatever time I have left, no doubt thanks to you!
Nobody gets out alive and knowing I have limited time (as we all do) instills a focus to enjoy every moment. Hoorah! Enjoy yours!
I'm on a farewell tour! . . . So are the Grateful Dead!

First of all, thank you, each and every one, for your incredible generosity, love, and support. I received my "gift" or prognosis in October 2023 - 5 to 7 months without treatment - perfect, plenty of time to get things in order, say goodbyes and catch the last train . . . It's been a roller coaster from 6 months ago - I've learned a lot and I'm still learning.
8 weeks of treatment at Envita in Scottsdale, AZ. Without friends K.C. and Holly living in Surprise, AZ, I'm not sure I could have considered this treatment due to logistics and cost. Finances have been draining, to say the least.
The CIPI procedure that is only available at Envita would cost $40k. I was ending treatment and going home without it. The surgeon swayed me otherwise but the cost said no. I am not comfortable asking for financial help from anyone, but Craig and a few others told me to shut my pie hole.
I called Envita and scheduled the CIPI for April 29th. Then I'm done with treatment and going home to LA (Lower Alabama). 4 to 6 weeks later a 4th CT scan will tell how the CIPI worked. I'm good with all outcomes.
I feel great (other than digestive pain issues and dropping 25 pounds). I'm at Planet Fitness nearly daily. I am playing music as often as possible, meeting incredible people, and realizing how our greatest wealth in this world is "You"!
Nobody knows how much "time" we have, and to focus on the moment is hammered into me constantly. I don't need sympathy, sadness, or remorse. I need your humor, laughter, stories, and your presence. I'll laugh to the final breath and don't want a second of sadness from anyone. After all, there is a chance I may be around longer to abuse you all and the world.
As the KPIG radio station in Freedom, CA program is titled, Please Stand By!
Thank you all for everything.
