For those that don't know me, my name is Christopher Smith. I moved to Tok, AK with my family in 1999 from WY. I met my beautiful wife Amanda in 2012, we got married in 2013 and to date we have 6 kids ranging from 10 to 2 years old.
In Feb 2019 I started to have sciatic nerve pain and a month after I noticed swelling and had debilitating pain. After seeing 2 doctors that assumed it was an infection, I took antibiotics and many natural supplements. It helped the pain a bit but the swelling never went away. In early 2022 it was getting to the point where my everyday movements were hindered by pain. I saw a new doctor in March 2022, and he agreed with our suspicions of it being cancer. On March 30th, I had surgery for a radical right orchiectomy to remove the mass. The biopsy later came back positive for cancer. A CT scan the end of May showed no signs of cancer. Around the same time I started having severe numbing and tingling of my hands and feet, brain fog, and no energy. I had blood work done that showed my thyroid levels were low and the Dr put me on thyroid meds that helped with the numbness/tingling but not much else.
That summer, healing was slow but I was able to do light work, Praise God! In late Feb 2023 I started to have low back pain again, then 3 days later my lower right abdomen started to hurt. Over the next couple months I noticed a lump starting to form deep in that same area, and didn't realize it was the cancer spreading. On June 26th, 2023 I had a CT scan done that showed I had an enlarged retroperitoneal lymph node (3.2 x 3.8cm). In June, we started working on the footer of our house addition, but doing just a little bit of shoveling set my sciatic nerve pain off again and laid me up for a week. I was still able to do some work through the summer being careful to not upset my back. After the CT scan in June, we talked to many friends who had had cancer and they shared their experiences of different treatments available. After that, I completely changed my diet and started taking numerous supplements. There has been a lot of learning and experimenting since then. I have seen 2 naturopaths and talked with a cancer specialist long distance. She has helped me tremendously by figuring out my body was in toxin overload. After taking the toxin binders she recommended, I felt a lot better physically.
Even so, everything I have been able to implement/take has not stopped the growth of the tumor. The pain in my abdomen has changed from occasional to now constant. A CT scan Feb 2024 showed it had grown to 7.4 x 5.1cm, and an ultrasound done recently (Aug 16th) showed it to be 10.5 x 9cm.
So with much prayer and contemplating treatment options, my wife and I feel that God is opening the doors for me to go to the Hope for Cancer Treatment Center in Tijuana. I praise God for the strength and endurance He has given me over the past 5 and a half years, through all of this. It has deepened my faith and made me more bold in my walk with Christ. But we have been shown that we cannot do this alone. Over the past few years, we have received so many blessings from friends and family that have helped us so much. We pray for God's Blessings to be upon each one of them! God has a plan for us and will use these trials and hardships for His Glory.
"My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing. If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord." James 1:2-7
"But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us. We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed; Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body." 2 Corinthians 4:7-10
By ourselves we cannot come up with the finances needed for the treatment center. The upfront cost would be $43,000 not including airfare for the initial treatment and 2 followup appointments. We trust that the Lord will provide and His Will be done, so we ask for help amidst this trying time to fund my cancer treatment. If you feel led to help us on this healing journey, we greatly thank you and may the Lord's Blessing be upon you!

"Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths. Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the Lord, and depart from evil. It shall be health to thy naval, and marrow to thy bones." Proverbs 3:5-8

Praise God, Christopher made it safely home! Thank you for the many prayers, as his border crossing went "unusually quick" (according to the driver), and both flights were over 20 minutes ahead of schedule landing!🙏
His final test results showed several numbers went down, and the tumor has shrunk some! His body responded well to the treatments and we are very thankful for the positive results!
The plan for now is to continue with the home program they've set up for him until his follow-up appt in 3 months.
We are so grateful to be back together again as a family! Thank you so much for all the prayers!

Christopher has been at Hope4Cancer for 1 solid week and a day now! The first few days were a little rough as he was tired from the flights, dealing with culture shock, and figuring out a new place. They started therapies the 3rd, and have been doing them 6-8 hours each day. He is getting into the rhythm of things and settled in pretty well now. :)
We both thank you all for the many prayers and continued financial support!!! ♥️

Praise God, Christopher is safely in Mexico at the Hope 4 Cancer center! He is getting settled into his room, and appts will start tmrw.
The flights went well, and God provided someone that helped Christopher navigate the Seattle airport! (A cousin to someone local in Tok! 😄 small world...)
Unfortunately Christopher wasn't able to sleep at all on the flights, so is really tired today! Please pray he will be able to get the rest he needs! 🙏❤

"Men shall speak of the might of Your awesome acts, and I will declare Your greatness. They shall utter the memory of Your great goodness, and shall sing of Your righteousness." Psalm 145:6-7
As I write this it is 1:15am. I just checked the fundraiser and was so excited to show Christopher that we have met the goal we set, PRAISE GOD!! Christopher pointed out to me the time on the clock, and it is almost to the minute, 2 weeks since we first put this up (a little past 1 am, August 18th). We are so amazed and mindblown at how quickly God worked everything out! We are so thankful for each and every one of you that has given monetarily, and especially for the countless prayers everyone has been (and is still) praying! It means more to us than we can ever express. ❤🙏
"The Lord is gracious and full of compassion, slow to anger and great in mercy. The Lord is good to all, and His tender mercies are over all His works." Psalms 145:8-9
(All of Psalm 145 is encouraging to read!)

"Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands. Serve the Lord with gladness: come before his presence with singing. Know ye that the Lord he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name. For the Lord is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations." Psalm 100
Since we started this fundraiser the 17th, we have been amazed at how God is providing for us through everyone's generosity! We are so thankful for each and every one of you that has shared with us monetarily, and that has been praying for us! God is real, and we pray this will be a testimony for His glory!!
We have the upfront cost for the Cancer Center raised, have Christopher's tickets bought, and he flies out the 2nd!! Please pray for travel safety, and for things to run extra smoothly at home for Amanda and the kids!
He will have 2 follow up appts (one at 3 months past treatment, the other at 6-9 months) which is included in the initial cost, but the airfare is not. So at this point, anything that people feel led to give will go towards travel expenses for those appts! :)
