Supporting the Douville Family of Yuma

Hi, my name is Kenneth Douville, 44 years old former Customer Service Representative in Retail. I live in Yuma, Arizona with my husband, Jonathan Ehler.

I met Jonathan at Chevron on January 9, 2016 when I was working late.  Since then, I gotten to know him as a person and learned about his ups and downs in which he started to develop mental illness. I learned to accept these changes and incorporate them in my life.

Few years later, I became certain that it was time to settle down because I was getting older and so was Jonathan. We married on June 9, 2020 at the historic Yuma Wedding Chapel. Life was good plus work.

I don’t know if I’m allowed to say my banks name but I do know that in 2018 I had credit card first before I was convinced to open a checking and savings performance in July 2019.

August 2020, I received an email from my bank of July 2019 cyberattack. I was assured that our information was safe. We didn’t have to do anything. Life went on during the pandemic.

I remembered on  January 3, 2021, my left arm started to stiff up and blood pressure was going to the extremes. Recognizing these signs of a heart attack or stroke. I immediately seek medical attention at the Yuma Medical Center. When I received treatment, I went home feeling dizzy and nauseated. I spent 2 1/2 years with vertigo and I wasn’t able to help Jonathan when he became manic. It was crippling time  for the both of us that we did our best to support each other including our family and friends.

In April 2022, I was notified on data breaches through my email and follow steps to secure my identity.  It was to late. We weren’t able to secure our accounts in time when this happened.  I filed a complaint and report to federal trade commission. We communicated with the bank when this happened.  We were told that they severe all ties and relationship with us.

The reason I’m writing a time line story in support of our fundraiser… July 9, 2023, Jonathan was outside enjoying the morning air when the Yuma County Sheriff Department showed up to interview us on the bank transactions and accused us fraud that happened in May 2022.

We were indicted by the Yuma County Superior Courts in September of 2023 and had separate public defenders at the time. Jonathan was not  in his state of capacity and was told to take the plea deal in February 2023.  My case became affected by this guilty plea and I was found guilty of attempted fraudulent schemes and artifices on April 24 , 2024.  I never stole my entire life.

Jonathan and I are placed on intensive probation including mental health. I find it to be an emotional rollercoaster and the negative impact on our lives including job loss. I found time to look through my case and saw a lot of inconsistencies.

It's been a traumatizing event in these past several months that I prayed to the creator to take away my burden and wait for a miracle.

The purpose of my fundraiser is to pay court fines and fees plus pursue better representation in civil action against this giant.
