Pastor Dev Shrestha of NIGAH Mission Church has asked us to return to Nepal and bring a mission team to teach the Word of God in several small and growing churches. Pastor Dev mentors these young churches and has requested that we offer teaching to pastors and their wives, as well as lay leaders, in the following areas: discipleship, stewardship, biblical leadership, how to engage Jehovah’s Witness and Mormon teachings, and encouragement in facing persecution. The church in Nepal is still relatively young, having been “born” approximately 75 years ago. The majority of pastors and leaders have only basic school-level studies and need further biblical training. Pastor Dev faithfully works to train these pastors, and it is an honor to be able to support how the Lord is building His church in Nepal! We've had the honor of working with and supporting Pastor Dev for over six years. 

During this trip we will have a 2.5 day conference in Kathmandu for pastors, deacons, and lay leaders followed by a children's ministry day where we will share the gospel in creative ways to the children in the churches and some children that do not go to church.

After that we will go to churches in some villages in other parts of Nepal such as Parsa and Mawkanpur and teach there and fellowship with believers.

We will also spend a few days working with Change Action Nepal in a Christian safe house in the southern part of Kathmandu for survivors of human trafficking and at-risk situations, where we will help the girls with their English homework, share meals together, teach the Word, and lead worship. We will also be doing street outreach/evangelism in the vibrant and spiritually dark tourist district of Kathmandu called Thamel, as well as a few historic sites. 

Our fundraising goal for the trip itself is $6000 to cover all trip-related costs for our family of 4 (two adults and two young children). We are also seeking to raise funds for approximately $1500 of our unavoidable basic living expenses at home while we are out of work during the trip (mortgage payment, cell phone bill, etc).

We are being sent by Rooted Network, a network of individuals and churches devoted to advancing the gospel personally, locally, and globally (rootedrtp.org). We have a team of 5 adults, 1 teenager, and our children Micah and Ruth, going together for this purpose. 

Here are some specific prayer requests:

-For safe travels.

-That God would use us to build up and encourage the church in Nepal.

-That the gospel would progress in Nepal.

-For believers in Nepal to be able to thrive despite social persecution.

-That God would bring the girls in the safehouse to faith in Christ and help them to recover from hardships they have experienced. Please pray for justice in Nepal against human trafficking.

-For spiritual growth in each member of the mission team. There are some well-established believers in the group and some that are relatively young in the faith, who desire to go out of their comfort zone and learn how they can use their spiritual gifts for God's glory.
