Gates of Hope began 9 years ago to assist those who have food insecurity needs. Since then we have delivered food to 3 high-rises and 1 outdoor food pantry and continue to do so monthly. Through this service, 43,000 have benefited over the years. In addition, food can be obtained by appointment and monthly giveaways where clothing and small household goods are available. At these pantries and giveaways, we also bring the Word of God to thirsty, hungry souls. We pray with and take prayer requests from any who need it and our team prays throughout the month for those who share their deep needs. We also have a Pet Food Pantry. In June, we were told that the building where we store everything is being taken back by the city to create apartments. We have been able to work out of this building through the generous donation of the space. We now find ourselves having to rent or purchase a space of our own and have found a building that perfectly fits our needs. It is a costly endeavor, but we believe that if we are to continue providing food, clothing, and such, God will provide through our monthly supporters and through your generosity. Hundreds of people count on this food to supplement their needs and are devastated to think that this service may not be available any longer if we cannot find a new, affordable space to operate out of. Rents are through the roof, and we feel that purchasing a building would be feasible and make more sense. We have some money to put down, and monthly support to pay a mortgage, but real estate is extremely high priced at this time and it would be so helpful if we could put a large deposit down to secure the purchase of this or another suitable building.
