I do not know where to begin this message. My boys and I have been the recipient of so many kind messages, cards, flowers, meals, financial contributions and many many other generous donations to help us through this difficult and challenging time. For that, I could not be more grateful. "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble" (Psalm 46:1, ESV).

It has now been 4 weeks since Nicole has passed. The boys and I are doing as well as we can be, spending time with many friends and family. We are working on getting back into a routine which involves me being back at work full time and this fall will see Dax go into Senior Kindergarten at Ottawa Christian School and Mav attending a Montessori. We continue to be loved on and cared for. That has been a true blessing and I know that we would be in a much tougher place without it.

Going forward I would ask that you continue to pray for our family. Pray for the boys as they navigate life without their lovely momma and pray for myself that God would fill the void and that I would be a loving father through the good and the bad. Most importantly, I would ask that you continue to pray that God would do a wonderful work here. Over the last 2 years, my family's life was changed for the better. We got to experience the suffering that produces perseverance, character and hope (Romans 5:3, ESV) and for that we are extremely thankful. In Nicole's last days, it was her prayer that no matter what happened, people would still have faith to know that our God is still the Sovereign King who reigns over the universe and has a plan for us. Nicole is experiencing ultimate healing, a healing so great that our minds cannot comprehend. This is the hope we cling on to as believers and set our sights on. It is my hope and prayer that the Lord continues to work and impact the lives of those who knew Nicole and what she believed in.
