Hello Family and Friends!

Andy did fantastic with his three weeks of chemotherapy treatment. This was a combination of IV infusions, which included two low dose chemo drugs, Glutathione, Curcumin and Vitamin C and a few other things I won’t bore you with. His body and cancer responded perfectly. His white and red blood cells are normal at this stage and no side effects except for a little tiredness. Yippee! This was a very different experience than before with his first oncologist – she damn near killed him! Here’s the difference . . . his new doctor drew his blood on day one and sent it to a lab in Greece that prepared a full DNA profile on him and tested his cancer cells against 60 different chemo drugs that go back 90 years in use, and 60 different supplements and off-label drugs also. These results told this doctor which drugs and supplements would have the best efficacy for Andy’s body and his particular cancer. Simple as that – there’s a little more to it, but pretty straight forward stuff. Now we move to the next stage of treatment for 3 months, but first we have to wait one week.

Why the wait? Andy has been suffering from a crushed vertebra at L5 for many months. He currently does not get around much, but when he does, he has a walker with him. Not fun times! It took us forever to see a Neurosurgeon, but he finally did, and he has an out-patient back surgery scheduled for this Friday the 18th. This surgery is called a Kyphoplasty. Apparently, they take two needles and inject some sort of cement into the crushed vertebra to puff it up along with a cancer fighting agent just in case there are some cancerous cells lurking around in there. The doctors are hopeful that this will solve his pain and walking issue and we can get him back up and going again. We are very hopeful and excited for this procedure.

Day after surgery, Andy will go on a low dose, oral chemo drug - Dr. calls it a “mop up” drug. He will also be taking many supplements during this time. He will have his blood tested every two weeks to keep an eye on the white and red blood cells. He will have a monthly injection that will help with restoring his bone loss. Should everything go as planned, he will have the big blood test done in three months that will tell us his tumor cell markers. If we get those markers in a normal range, he will be in remission.

Then there is a surprise at the end that I will share with you. A big surprise that could really make him bullet proof! I will share that as we get closer to that successful marker.
