Our beloved Ken, has gone home to be with the Lord after a terrible accident while on vacation in New Hampshire. We were completing the last item on his bucket list of going to Mt Washington. We were walking in the parking lot when Ken suddenly felt very fatigued and wanted to sit down. He sat on a boulder and almost immediately fell over onto the boulder next to him, splitting open his forhead to the skull and breaking his neck.

Ken's injury required the support of a trauma hospital located 120 miles south of the accident, a 3 hours drive. He was at an excellent facility called Darthmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in ICU for 7 1/2 days days, then moved to hospice at the same facilty for 6 1/2 days. His team of doctors determined that Ken would not survive his injuries, complicated by his diseases of Dementia and Parkinson's.

Our daughter Christina and her husband Jeremiah, flew to New Hampshire to support us, and help with medical decisions. Ken's team of doctors were impressive and gave the three of us good information and details of Ken's health.

The accident incurred expenses associated with living out of state. We are grateful for the generousity from a loving church who took care of hotel costs. What is left are some living expenses, car rental, emergency airfare for Christina and her husband to New Hampshire, anticipated medical expenses (deductibles), the cost of a specialized ambulance service required to get Ken home, and now, funeral expenses. (Ken desperately wanted to be home. Michelle secured a medical transportation service which included two drivers, a nurse, oxygen and other medical necessities. After a twenty four hours drive, Ken and Michelle arrived home in Omaha. It cost $11k and denied by insurance as it is deemed "medically unnecessary" 😢).

Ken went to heaven peacefully surrounded by his loving wife and family. His family is thankful for the final days Ken had as they were spirit filled, experiencing the loving comfort and call of his Savior Jesus Christ, welcoming Ken home. Michelle, Christina and her family, shared special, intimate, loving moments together with Ken in his final days.

The Race of Faith Hebrews 12:1-2

Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Ken ran his race well!
