I've never done this kind of thing before, but my beloved friend Chase was suffering from painful congestive heart failure and building fluid in his abdomen and legs.

You might find it strange I call him my friend. I live alone and have no family. I call him my friend, because I never considered him my "pet" nor I his "owner". He was my friend, my buddy. Chase expressed himself to me as an equal. He chose when and what he wanted to eat, when he wanted to go for a walk, he would growl if the TV was too loud and nudged me if i was staying up too late and it was time to go to bed. If I was having a bout of depression he would wrestle his way unto my chest and lick my nose and chin. In many ways I feel like he took care of me more than I took care of him. Before he was taken from my arms, trembling in my tears I whispered to Chase..."Who's going to take care of me now???"

I'm sorry I digress.

I spoke to several vets, they agreed given his age euthanasia was right choice. Even though one veterinarian noted he could prescribe a medication for the congestive heart failure. He wouldn't because Chase only had 3 legs and did not want to prolong what he considered a "poor quality" life.

I won't lie, I was angry about that, but considering Chase could just barely make it outside to do his business then needed me to carry him back inside because he couldn't on his own. Well I suppose the veterinarian had a point. That's not much of a life for my friend Chase.

Why am I raising these funds?

I live on a tight monthly amount. I loved Chase and I know in my heart I had to put my selfishness aside and do the right thing. The bills left over from euthanizing him though not an astronomical amount to some, is enough to cause me considerable hardship (groceries, medication and so on).

I am asking with humility in my heart that someone will please help me with Chase's euthanasia bill. At the moment my account is negative -300 from the first payment for the euthanasia. Anything at all would help 1$, 5$. Prayers are also greatly appreciated!
