I updated the goal because I think the cost will be substantially more than we initially anticipated. Today during Villy's surgery her femoral artery was hit and they had to stop the procedure. They were able to stop the bleeding and finish the front side of her pelvis but chose to wait on the rest until tomorrow. She has been moved to the ICU and is expected to have her second surgery tomorrow. The Dr has said assuming everything goes well they expect to release Villy on Monday, then 6 weeks in a wheelchair and six months to a year of recovery. If you can give thank you. If you can't, please pray!

What happened:
On Monday, June 21, 2021, Ben Bergquam and his family, finally made it to Arkansas, where they will make their home. Within 24 hours, their lives have changed dramatically. While on a golf cart ride back from dinner, the golf cart Ben, his wife Villy, and his daughters Olivia and Chloe, flipped over on its right side after making a sharp left hand, downhill turn. I was two golf carts ahead of him and heard the crash. Myself and my friends that were just in front of Ben, stopped, ran back and tipped the cart right side up. Villy was on the passenger side and took the brunt of the force. Thank God the fire department was right across the street. They came over immediately. Ambulances were called and all four of the Bergquams we're taken to the hospital. Once there, Villy was x-rayed, where they found that she had a broken pelvis in three places, a fracture at the base of her spine and a fracture on her scapula. They arranged immediate transportation to Baptist hospital in Little Rock. Ben had a major gash on the bottom of his right foot and multiple road rash injuries on his legs. Olivia suffered major road rash to the back and the sides of her legs and is unable to walk at this point, too much pain. Chloe escaped any major injury.
At this time, Thursday the 24th at 10 o'clock in the morning, his daughters are staying with me and my wife, and Ben is at the hospital with Villy, who just went in for surgery. The surgeon already told Ben that Villy will be in a wheelchair for at least six weeks after she is released from the hospital.
Although they have some insurance, it will in no way pay for the bills that will be incurred after this accident. I ask you humbly to donate as much as you can. Ben's family  will see every donation and will be very grateful.
This has also interfered with Bens work, as he had several major speaking events scheduled around the nation leading up to the fourth of July, that he won't be able to make. (No work, no pay)
Every penny raised will go directly to the Bergquam family. Thank you in advance and continue your prayers for the Bergquam family.

Thank you all so much. I can't express in words how truly humbled and appreciative we are of your prayers, support and love. We would never have chosen to go through this but I already see God doing some amazing work through this process. Physical healing is our number one concern, but knowing that we don't have to worry about the financial side is extremely a Godsend. God bless you all!

love each other,
Ben
