Daniel has been incarcerated for almost 13 years now for a crime he did not commit and was sentenced to double the standard range of time for the crime, even with him not having any prior criminal history. He was born and raised in West Philadelphia, and after completing high school he studied to become a massage therapist and received his certification. He ended up moving to Washington State where he attended Bellevue college to earn his degree in business while running his own business and taking on a full time job working for ATT. In addition to that, he worked as a well-known event promoter and worked with various venues and artist such as yg, bobby brackins, Mann, the rejects, flo rida, bad girls club members, and local artist.. But most importantly created job opportunities for his peers through his entertainment group.
Daniel just turned 36 years old, in 2012 he was unjustly convicted and imprisoned despite a total lack of evidence. His conviction, based solely on the proven lies of three women who changed their stories and explanations countless times. None of their stories ever matched up to each other, not to mention the shaky testimony of his co-defendant, is a complete aberration.
His innocence is evident : the DNA on the scene not matching him, there is no physical evidence matching him, no factual evidence, prosecutors resorting to multiple different motives when their stories fell apart, and prosecution relying on eye witness testimonies of women whom he had bad falling outs after caught in lies on the stand. But prosecution continued on after the state admitted to losing exculpatory evidence, states witness proved their initial motive was untrue, an unbiased witness with no connection to neither Daniel or the victim testified to facts that proved states main witnesses were lying, and Daniel admitted to no crime even while being the target of a video and audio wire tap in which he was unaware of.
His expected release date is currently in 2049, which is beyond unfair and unjust. Daniel has spent a third of his life locked up, fighting every day to finally be free.
Hardworking and motivated, he has never stopped being active despite his incarceration. Over the past twelve years he has held multiple job positions to help support himself. He has taken and completed non-mandatory courses to educate himself and grow as a person. He has a certain talent for writing and drawing which are a way for him to express himself and sometimes escape the harsh reality in which he lives. Daniel has taken on a passion for traditional Native beading techniques and has created some beautiful medallions. He has participated in several projects as the black cultural event committee, plack prisoners caucus, unit event manager, brigadoon service dog training program, sustainable practices lab community donation artist…
Daniel is a calm and kind person, despite the environment in which he currently lives, he always tries to make the best of every situation. He is the most caring, loving, gentle and understanding man I know. Always clowning around, Daniel takes to heart the well-being and happiness of the people around him. He is always there to help, listen, advise and put a smile on the face of those who he cares about, even when he is the one who needs it.
The first step for us is to raise $1,500 to begin the process and the evaluation of his case. To continue the process, the fees are $500 per hour, up to $20,000. He has also referred his case to the Innocence Project.
His family sorely misses Daniel and he misses his family. He only wants to go back to the ones he loves. After so many years locked up, he is anxious but eager to be free again. Full of plans, he knows what he wants to accomplish and build on the outside : To have his own home, to find a job and start his own business, to start a family, to travel and make up for all the years he missed.
We thank all the people who believe in his innocence and will help him come home.

Stay strong ♥️
