This campaign seeks to raise funds for the launch of HOPE, a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering Black women in the Greater Toronto Area who face employment barriers. According to Statistics Canada, Black women have the highest unemployment rate and are the lowest-paid employees across all industries. They face an 11% wage gap compared to women of other ethnicities and a 43% gap compared to men of other ethnicities. Our mission—Helping Our People Elevate—is centered around providing paid training and sustainable jobs in the fashion and clothing industry. Participants will gain in-demand skills, access to high-paying employment opportunities, mental health support, and personalized mentorship from industry professionals. While we have received a startup grant from United Way, additional support is needed to meet our fundraising goal and open our doors to these deserving women.
Your contribution, no matter the size, will make a meaningful difference. Please consider donating and sharing our message.
Cannot wait to see what this organization will do for our community! BLACK WOMEN NEED GOOD PAYING JOBS TOO! #internationalwomensmonth
