This fundraiser is to acquire funds to purchase drones, components, and relevant equipment for Renegade Squadron, a drone team operating in Eastern Ukraine. We are part of a unit of dedicated individuals who have made the choice to work with other professional, like-minded individuals.

FPV drones are being used more and more at the front with increasing effectiveness as a multi-role peice of airborne equipment. At zero line they are used successfully as kinetic ordinance (kamikaze), for reconnaissance, even as bombers. Although we still need and utilize common consumer drones such as DJI Mavic 3, FPVs have a distinct advantage over common comsumer drones because they are far less expensive and less susceptible to Russian EW/radio interference. We can also build and repair FPVs right there at the front and it's not a catastrophic loss if we loose or damage one like with a DJI drone, which has a replacement cost of thousands of dollars. We can get anywhere from 5 to 10 FPVs for the price of one Mavic 3 combo.

The fundraising goal, although high by some standards, is enough to buy multiple FPVs ($400-$800), batteries ($100-$150), required radio equipment for base stations(~$2,500), goggles ($150-$600), controllers ($125-$500), and components ($10-$3500) to repair or even build our own. Building our own FPVs and equipment significantly reduces costs, wait times, and allows us to customize to our needs on the battlefield, increasing our likelihood of success.
