My name is Colton and recently I’ve moved to Tennessee. I lived right in the path of the hurricane Helene . The house that me,my wife, and my mother-in-law share, was ruined. Also the house her grandfather and aunt live in was also ruined. We cannot afford to fix them and they are too scared to live here Anymore, they want to move back to Arizona. The hurricane brought so much water that it flooded our house all the way above our doorways. It ruined everything in my living room, ruined everything in my kitchen, it ruined everything on the lower level of both homes. Her grandfather lost everything that he had , he stayed on the lower level of one of the homes. The community has generously helped try to prevent mold and other possible damage that could be caused by the water, but there’s no money to rebuild these houses. I spent every bit of my savings and I just don’t know what to do , because they all want to move back to Arizona. It seems like everyone is worrying about themselves and doing their own thing now confusion of everything nobody’s realized that we don’t have the means to go back there. If I wanted to go back there, I would have to have my toolbox taken all the way there cause I do not have enough to even rent a trailer to haul it or a vehicle that could haul it. my vehicle is a 20 year-old. Saturn SUV is not capable of pulling a trailer through the hills and mountains of the return trip. I had car trailer to come here but now I don’t have that trailer. Somebody was kind enough to rent it for us so I didn’t have to drive the car cause I know that car would not make it all this way but now I’m stuck in Tennessee with no buddy I know, no family and no money and the house that has no power no water and no ground floor level.
