June 8 Update:

We are back in New York! Several days of treatment starting tomorrow.

Unfortunately we came when the wildfire smoke seems to be thickest! Praying we get some rain soon!

Christian is back in the hospital for treatment, did awesome with his port access (cried only a little bit!), and will soon be receiving his beginning dose of chemotherapy. He will be getting a 6-hour dose of one drug, and a 24-hour dose of two other drugs. This means he will be admitted to the hospital tonight and probably all 3 nights are we are here. Surprise! 😐

Once I know for sure when we will be admitted, we will be able to strategize on who is staying where. (Most likely Shak will stay with Tin, while Bella and I go sleep at the Airbnb)

Hospital life keeps you on your toes, for sure.

The smoke outside is much less today than yesterday, so that’s good, as I like to walk around outside the hospital to stretch my legs 🚶🏼‍♀️

One of the most difficult things about coming to the hospital is hearing all the other upset kids. There are a lot of things that these young children (even toddlers) are subjected to and need for treatment. Even tho I know their family is there to comfort them, it’s difficult to listen to children crying! It’s certainly not constant. But hearing any kid cry is just 😰😰😭😭

I pray for all the kids and families going through this. We are thankful to the Lord for how Christian has been handling it all.

June 9 Update:

We are so happy that the doctors agreed to keep us outpatient! That means we got to go home and relax last night and every night this round. Huge praise! Credit to Shak for advocating for us!

So we had a nice evening last night and we were all asleep by 10. Christian had a great day yesterday and a great sleep last night, only getting up to go potty. No sickness, PTL!

Today he did have some nausea and vomiting as we got back to the hospital (typical for us each round). But he’s feeling good again.

Today’s gift from Gospel of Grace church was bubbles! And they are good ones!

We should be going back tonight even earlier than yesterday, and we are praying for no sickness / jaw pain from Vincristine.

So so thankful we are outpatient 🙏🏼
