Christian Worldview Academy or CWA, is a Non-profit, private discipleship and biblical worldview school created to, predominantly, come along side like-minded single parent as they struggle to provide a biblical worldview education for their children. Though we welcome two parent households as well, our mission is to the single mom, dad or grandparents.
CWA’s Formation
The academy’s formation arose out of a deep desire help our daughter, who is a single Mother, to get our two grandchildren out of a public school system that is increasingly growing more and more diametrically opposed to our Christian values. It didn’t take long before that deep desire grew into a heart cry for all single parent struggling in the same way our daughter was. As I prayed about what we could do to help, the Lord began to open my eyes and heart to the secular onslaught aimed at our children and the obvious need in our culture to raise up a godly generation to combat and defend the Christian faith.
Why a Private Discipleship school?
Our kids today are essentially drilled in evolution, millions of years, secular morality, homosexuality, gender dysphoria, lusts, and many other sinful practices. Where do most Christian children learn these things? From much of the media and social media, public education, secular museums, and sadly—to one degree or another—even certain churches.
About 90% of kids from churched homes attend secular schools? Many parents would love to see their children trained to develop a truly Christian philosophy in every area. An increasing number of parents are crying out for an institution that excels in both academics and Christian education, with a focus on apologetics and critical thinking skills.
We at Christian Worldview Academy have a special burden for single parents who can neither afford to stay home to homeschool, as they are the sole provider for their family, or afford the high cost of private Christian schools. Utilizing programs such as ESA and STO’s we are able to offer “free” tuition for our single parents to provide them with, what we believe to be, the only education a believer should give to their children. These programs are also available to our two parent households.
Being a single mom once myself I know personally that this is not what we plan for our lives. Not many single parents choose to be single parents often times it is thrust upon them through the death of a spouse, an unwanted divorce, or even having a spouse whose job has them away from home for great periods of time. Though these are not typical single parent situations it can certainly feel that way as many of you know. We also understand there are special situations where grandparents are having to raising their grandchildren and trying to do so on a pension or retirement funds. Whatever category you find yourself in we want you to know that we are here for you.
Our Vision
Our vision is to provide a place where single Christian parents can give their children a quality Christian Education without having to sacrifice quality time with their kids.
Our Mission
This school’s mission is to help the single mother and the fatherless while keeping ourselves separated from the secular systems of the world (James 1:27) help counter false teaching and train the kids to be disciples of Christ—holding to the authority of Scripture from the very first verse—so they will be prepared for the world’s attacks (Ephesians 6:10–20), able to contend for the faith (Jude 3), equipped with answers to skeptical questions (1 Peter 3:15), and be witnesses for the gospel in the world (Matthew 28:16–20).
Why should you consider CWA?
· Curriculum: We use BJU’s online curriculum. This curriculum is solidly and steadfastly squared on Christ while not losing a beat in academic rigor. Your child will be taught HOW to think not WHAT to think. We believe that critical thinking skills are of the utmost importance in this current age of social media, and contradicting media stories. This next generation of students need to be able to decern what is true and what is false. An education that is anchored in Christ Jesus is one anchored in Truth.
· Class Size: CWA’s small class sizes of no more that 12 students per class give teacher/facilitator the opportunity to focus on the individual child as well as being available to the class as a whole. Teacher/facilitator are able to catch when a child is struggling sooner and give that child the help they need.
· Unique Learning Environment: At CWA we’ve created a unique learning environment that incorporates current technology intermingled with old school skill training. We’ve designed a learning environment that’s built around how God designed kids to learn best. Deut. 6:4-7 says, “The Lord our God, the Lord is one. You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise.” The Lord adds in Matt. 22:37 “mind” We are to love God with all of our selves If our kids are created and able to learn the most important subject in the universe and in the heaven when they sit, stand, walk and lie down, then they are created to learn every lessor subject the same way. So we utilize God’s design for them by teaching them while they are at the desk, while they are outdoors, while they stand around a woodworking table and while we walk to the nearby park for recess. We teach them nature and character of God through math, science and history, the beauty of God in nature, we teach the wonder of God through play, the resilience of God through sport and the nurture of God through food. Our parents are encouraged and impowered to teach them at the kitchen table and when they lay down to sleep and when they rise in the morning. We teach them from books and online and at play and on field trips local and away.
God created children to learn in many different situations not just one.
The School Week
So you ask, how do you do that? Our school week consist of three days of core subject such as Math, English, History etc., and two days specials and extra special. Our specials are Art, PE, Music etc. and our extra special consist of life skill training or as we use to call it, Home-ec. These classes are (but not limited to) carpentry/woodworking, cooking, baking, budgeting, and more. Our kids do their school work indoor, outdoors when weather permits, in the kitchen, in our shop/garage and at the park for PE and recess. Our kids get to be kids while learning about Gods design for every subject they learn.
We need your help.
As a new startup school, we are praying the Lord will bring people alongside us for prayer and financial support as we continue this step of faith to fulfill the intense burden the Lord has placed on our hearts. Our goal for the first year is to take on 15 student and next year 30 students. We need to be able to pay teacher/facilitator, office staff and save for facility fees as we perceive needing a very specific future space to continue offering the type of learning environment we’re offering to our current students. And there are many other need such as laptops, school lunches, and uniforms we offer to help ease the burden on our single parents.
We truly believe that God still provides for his people through his people and through whomsoever He chooses to do His good pleasure. We ask that you will prayerfully consider how He might use you.
If you love what God is doing here at CWA we ask you to please be in prayer for the school and to consider becoming a regular donor to help us in this vital mission to the next generations. One-time donations are also greatly appreciated. If you are interested in donating to our school, you can find a list of our most current need at the bottom of our donation page at www.christian-worldview.org/donate . There is no donation to small. We know that God will bless every heartfelt gift.
Thank you in advance for helping us Partner for their future.
