On January 9th, Char went to the doctor with heart issues, and it was determined that she needed a stent put in.

On April 19th, Char went to the hospital in Fargo with continued heart issues and shortness of breath, and was soon transferred to the Twin Cities. This began her over four month battle with heart, lung, kidney, and liver complications, which included open heart surgery, four new stents, a respirator, seven weeks in the ICU, a tracheotomy, and continuous dialysis.

As of August 23rd, Char has been transferred from different hospitals and care facilities seven times, with many infections and complications including RSV, pneumonia, sepsis, and Covid. She is currently in the hospital in Minneapolis, battling another infection. In her over four months between hospitals and care facilities, three of those months have been five hours away from home and family. 

More than anything, please pray for Char’s healing, and that she can come home soon. Funds raised for Char and her family will be put towards medical bills, gas, food expenses, and hotel stays for her husband, Steve, who has been with her in the Twin Cities for many days and nights. Once she is home, funds will be used for therapy, in home care, and trips to and from Fargo for dialysis.
