Brian Judy is one of the nicest guys you’ll ever meet, and we (his daughters, Erin and Jessie) are blessed to call him Dad. Diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2022, he had surgery in 2023 and got back to living a normal life. Now, in fall 2024, the cancer has returned to the pancreas, along with small spots on the lungs. Since many have asked how they can help, we humbly created this opportunity for those who feel led to partner with us. Out-of-pocket treatment costs through the end of this year will total around $19,000, so that is our current goal.
At a young and active 67, our dad is always smiling, never complaining, and always eager to help. He loves Jesus, his family, his community, his country, and can often be found playing with or teaching something to his grandkids, who just so happen to adore him.
Pancreatic cancer’s reputation precedes it, and by traditional standards, he is already considered a success story for living these past two years…but we (and our amazing mom, Sandy) refuse to be ruled by fear and statistics, so we’re looking toward the future with hope.
Since standard treatment for pancreatic cancer has low success rates, our parents are working with an integrative cancer team who guides his care through traditional and alternative methods. Most recommended treatments are not covered by insurance, including Insulin Potentiation Therapy (IPT), a targeted chemo that blessedly does not wreak havoc on his entire system. (Standard chemo for pancreatic cancer is extremely harsh, often leaving patients too weak to fight any further. Brian once said he doesn’t feel he’d still be alive if he’d gone that route.)
Since diagnosis, our parents have been hit with an abundance of out-of-pocket expenses, and to continue this journey to health, our dad needs at least six more rounds of IPT (chemo). Added to his specially-prescribed at-home treatment costs, the total comes to around $19,000 through the end of the year. This lofty number is our current goal.
Would you consider partnering with us prayerfully and/or financially to support our dad’s journey down a road less taken as he strives to beat this cancer? We know God will provide and have seen him move in mighty ways through the prayers of his people, and now we ask for your help if so led. All contributions will be put directly toward medical costs.
Our parents, Brian and Sandy, want to add their acknowledgement that many people are struggling right now, and they would never want to take support from others in need. They also send a huge thanks to everyone who has been praying for them!
Jeremiah 30:17b says this: “'I will give you back your health and heal your wounds,' says the Lord." God is good, and we continue to trust him and walk in faith. Thanks for joining us on this journey to help our amazing dad, Brian Judy, regain the active and involved life he was meant to live!

We are so blessed and blown away by your generosity on behalf of our dad, Brian! Right now, we are 51% of the way toward meeting our goal of $19,000, which we recognize is a lofty goal to begin with. But your love and generosity in getting them this far is incredible! As the total currently stands, five out of six of his specialized chemo treatments (insulin potentiation therapy or IPT) are PAID FOR through your collective giving. There are other ongoing treatment costs as well, which is why our goal is so high to cover through the end of the year, but having FIVE of these treatments covered is huge. Thank you so much, once again, for your generosity and support.
Here is the latest, in case you are keeping our parents in your thoughts and prayers...
After his initial diagnosis two years ago, our dad had IPT treatments before surgery, but hadn't had any since. Now his oncology specialist recommended six treatments, and he received the first of these six last week. The day after the treatment is often a hard day, leaving him nauseated and exhausted. Thankfully, this generally only lasts a day, and the treatments don't seem to weaken him otherwise, as chemo can often do.
The last few weeks have been rough as he had a successful procedure to manage his pain (yay!), but has had to wean off some heavy-hitting pain meds. The back-and-forth of it all each day, trying to figure out what symptoms were caused by tapering off the meds vs. the cancer itself, had our mom's head spinning as she cared for him and did amazing work figuring it all out.
It's been a long few weeks of no appetite (and often nausea after eating) and exhaustion. The last couple days seem to have been a turning point (we pray!), and he's been able to eat a bit more consistently and have more energy than he's had in a while. If you know him, you know he doesn't have any weight to lose, so please pray against any more weight loss!
This week he has an appointment for a second tumor ablation -- please pray this is successful! The targeted tumor is in a difficult place, so the biggest prayer is that the interventional radiologist can access the tumor effectively.
Your support, prayers, and thoughts are so appreciated! We pray each of you has an amazing week ahead!
