Hello! Thanks for taking an interest in our mission work! We are Jared and Amelia Breig, serving in Uganda at The Gem Foundation, a home for children with disabilities.

Our roles at Gem include a variety of responsibilities - no two days are ever the same! Jared can often be found around the Gem campus doing repairs, playing with kids, helping the director with office paperwork, and engaging in special projects. Amelia spends most of her time working directly with the medical team to manage the care of the 60+ children who call Gem their home. She has attended doctor appointments with children, is helping to switch charting from paper to electronic, and does random tasks on the side. We are both involved in getting the clinic set up and running. With our medical background, we have valuable insight to offer during the preparation and ground-breaking phases.

While living in Uganda, we are in the process of adopting a little boy (age 8) with hydrocephalus. We also welcomed our first biological child into our family in February 2024. Our kids are such a blessing - we thank the Lord for bringing each of them into our lives! Our internship with The Gem Foundation will be ongoing during the remainder of the time we are here for the adoption process.
