Every day, countless disadvantaged children, young people, and local communities in Uganda face hardship and limited opportunities. Vulnerable individuals such as young children and women lack life necessities such as basic education, shelter, employment and food. 

In 2024, Uganda remains one of the poorest countries in the world and The Akamwhenu Initiative Uganda is dedicated to changing that — and with your help, we can uplift more lives and build stronger, more resilient communities.

Child Welfare Programs: Providing essentials like education materials, nutritious meals, and healthcare for vulnerable children.

Youth Empowerment: Offering skills training and mentorship programs to help young people achieve self-sufficiency and brighter futures.

Safe Spaces: Creating environments where children and young people can access emotional and educational support.

Since Akamwenhu Initiative began, it has;

I) supported the education of over 50 vulnerable children, provided skills training for over 50 young people.

II) partnered with 10 local churches to deliver community-based programs.

III) distributed emergency food and medical aid to over 20 families in need.

IV) hosted workshops to empower families and strengthen communities.
