On an emergency basis to protect the rights of poll challengers in Michigan, I put together the legal team that successfully argued that the Secretary of State's directive violated the legal rights of Michigan poll challengers.
The Secretary of State had issued guidance that poll workers could strictly enforce "social distancing" requirements on poll challengers -- rendering it impossible to perform their duties. The attorneys filed an emergency motion for a temporary restraining order on October 23, and minutes before a hearing on October 28, attorneys successfully negotiated a revised directive from the Secretary of State that poll challengers would be allowed to come close to perform their duties.
Now that massive election irregularities in Michigan have been discovered -- including the pervasive impeding of poll challengers -- this lawsuit may ultimately provide the basis for establishing that Michigan's election was conducted improperly.
This lawsuit may prove to have saved our elections.
But knowing that our lawyers had to work at light speed to get this accomplished in time, I gave them my word I would raise the money for their legal bills.
I need your help to pay our attorneys for their amazing work. The final bill came to just under $7000.
Whatever you can do to help pay these expenses is most appreciated!
Any additional funds we raise will be donated to the legal defense of Lucas Gerhard, a young man facing criminal charges for having exercised his First Amendment right to post a photo of his legal rifle on SnapChat and joke that it would "make snowflakes melt." Lucas has been under arrest for over a full year and his life has been ruined by these bogus charges.
Please give as generously as you can, so we can meet our goal and help save this innocent young man.
