# GiveSendGo

> GiveSendGo is a faith-based crowdfunding platform. Anyone can raise money for a

The idea came from **three siblings** in 2014: take crowdfunding and stretch it past
material needs to hope for spiritual ones. Two of them, **Jacob Wells** and **Heather
Wilson**, launched it in 2015 and still run it together as co-CEOs. It is a private, family-run
company based in Boston, Massachusetts, and it has never taken outside investment. Our
mission is **Sharing the Hope of Jesus through Crowdfunding**, and every fundraiser can
receive prayer as well as money.

The payment processor's fee is deducted from each donation before it reaches the fundraiser balance:

- **US-based fundraisers:** 2.7% + $0.30 per donation
- **Fundraisers based outside the US:** 3.5% + $0.30 per donation
- On a $100 donation to a US-based fundraiser, **$97.00 reaches the fundraiser**

Non-USD fundraisers may also see currency exchange fees set by the processor. GiveSendGo is funded by optional tips from givers and organizers who choose to support us.

## How we keep it safe

Every fundraiser goes through review, and money does not move until the checks are done.

- Before any funds transfer, the recipient must complete **identity verification**.
- Our trust and safety team reviews whether the recipient's relationship to the person in need is appropriate and verifiable, and whether the fundraiser is consistent with its stated purpose.
- **Funds are not released until those checks are complete.**
- We monitor donation activity and fundraiser behavior continuously, and a fundraiser that raises concerns can be held while the team reviews it.
- Anyone can report a fundraiser, and our team reviews it against our Terms of Service.
- Payments are PCI Level 1 certified and encrypted in transit.

We do not allow fundraisers that promote or glorify violence, raise money for illegal activity, or raise money for abortion procedures or gender transition surgeries for minors.
