Hello! I am so glad you are here to learn a bit about what God is doing in the lives of people in India and how you can directly help be the hands and feet of God in a country where Christ is not freely shared.
To begin, our story started out through a Samartian's Purse Operation Christmas Child Shoebox, that my family and I sent off about 20 years ago. Little did I know, we would recieve a letter back from a young boy, Titus, living in India with his family. His father, was a Christian pastor, in a predominately Hindu and Muslim country, which I'm sure had it's share of challenges. Over the years, we corrosponded through cards and letters where we learned that his older brother, David, was training to be a pastor, like his father.
In recent year, with the help of social media, we were able to get in contact with David and Titus, much more frequently. In 2020, we helped finish the church where David is helping bring other's to know the love of Jesus and now we are on a mission to be the hands and feet of Jesus and bring food and supplies to the orphans and widow families in nearby villages.
David's message to me:
Cheyenne, if we give one day food to a child (morning, afternoon and night) it would cost $1.5(one and a half dollar) per child. For fifty children it would cost $75 to feed them for one day. If we decide to give them food once a week , we need 75×4 =300 dollars for four times in a month. I will deliver the food to the orphanage and to the village children. Once in a month I will bring them to the church. As you said many people in India need for the basic necessities. Here in my place I find out six families who are very poor and can not afford to feed their children. Among these six people three are destitute widows , one woman is abandoned by her husband, and the other two people are very poor and don't have the regular work. These six families are struggling to feed their children and themselves. So we can help them by giving rice packages, groceries and vegetables. It would cost $50 dollars per family. For six families we need 6×50 = 300 dollars. Totally we need $600 dollars per month to feed the 50 children and feed the 6 families.
We started this April and we have currently fed the 6 families and 50 children. However, we need ongoing help to continue this ministry. That's where we are hoping to find amazing people, like you, who would help donate to bring food and essentials to these young children and families that are in need.
Some updates from our first month:
In the village, we gave food to the poor children this evening. Children are singing our worship songs and some of them tell the Lord's prayer(Matthew 6:9-13). There every Sunday evening we are going and sharing the word of God.
Cheyenne, they need food and sponsor, so they allow us to pray and tell about Jesus. But in many places they don't allow Christianity. I want to utilise this situation and I am slowly sharing the Gospel. I hope one day this children will accept Jesus as their Lord and saviour.
“Christ has no body now but yours. No hands, no feet on earth but yours.
Yours are the eyes through which he looks compassion on this world.
Yours are the feet with which he walks to do good.
Yours are the hands through which he blesses all the world.
Yours are the hands, yours are the feet, yours are the eyes, you are his body.
Christ has no body now on earth but yours.”
